Just The Facts: More Than Half Of Canadians Feel Financially Paralyzed January 23, 2025 Ottawa, ON – After nine years, the NDP-Liberal Government has inflicted economic misery on Canadians. Families are now having to pay $800 more for food in 2025 than they did last year, and 50 percent of Canadians are now $200 or less away from not being able to pay their bills. Today, the Royal Bank of Canada released their Financial Flexibility Poll, which revealed that 55 percent of Canadians are “feeling paralyzed” after nine years of the NDP-Liberals inflationary spending and punishing taxes. On top of this, 60 percent of Canadians worry that they don’t have enough money to cover unexpected expenses and 18 percent feel “they are already over the edge financially.” Things have gotten so bad that nearly half of Canadians (48 percent) report that they can’t maintain their standard of living, and 29 percent said “their finances are in a constant state of chaos.” More than a quarter of Canadians (27 percent) are now taking on debt to cover basic monthly needs. It wasn’t like this before the NDP-Liberal Government. As Trudeau’s top economic advisors, Carbon Tax Carney and Carbon Tax Chrystia allowed Canada’s spending to spiral out of control, resulting in a massive deficit of $61.9 billion last year. They also led the charge to quadruple the carbon tax to 61 cents per litre by 2030, making everything more expensive. Only Common Sense Conservatives will restore Canada’s promise by axing the tax, fixing the budget and bringing home powerful paycheques for Canadians.
